Eugene Kuznetsov, founder, Chairman and CTO, DataPower Technology,

DataPower Technology was founded in 1999 and funded by Seed Capital Partners, Venrock Associates and Mobius Venture Capital. DataPower is executing their vision for the next generation of intelligent network equipment providing enterprises with intelligent XML-Aware Network (XAN) infrastructure to ensure unparalleled security, performance and manageability for XML and Web Services applications. They are the original creator of XML-aware networking and the most widely deployed provider of XML-aware network devices. Their vision of XML-aware networks (XANs) is a key part of the transition from packet-oriented networks to application-oriented networks, where smart network equipment provides not just connectivity but message-level security, routing, integration and acceleration. Their strategy was built on two beliefs: that XML would become the dominant protocol for connecting disparate systems, and that only true network devices, rather than heterogeneous software, would be able to support the security, performance and simplicity required for wide adoption. DataPower customers worldwide have XML-aware networks that secure, accelerate and enable application processing at price and performance levels not possible with software. DataPower's XML-aware network devices have securely processed billions of dollars in XML transactions.
Eugene is a technology visionary who has worked on real-world enterprise XML issues since the late 90s inception of XML. Prior to DataPower, he consulted for numerous companies, including Microsoft; he has worked on a variety of hardware and software engineering problems in the areas of memory management, power electronics, JIT compilers, optimized execution engines and application integration. Kuznetsov's articles have appeared in ZDNet, EETimes, XML Journal, Network World, Java Report, eBizQ and SC Magazine. He is a well regarded speaker at numerous conferences and events including NetSec, NATO C3 Agency, HPWorld, XML.gov Working Group, CIO Council XML.gov Working Group, Web Services DevCon, MITRE XML Day, NECINA and Web Services Edge, Gartners Application Integration and Web Services Summit, the IT Security & Privacy Conference, and ITTC 2004.
