Overview:
Need to raise capital but are either not ready for or able to
secure venture capital or angel investments? This panel of
entrepreneurs and alternative financiers will show how alternative
sources and methods were used to start, fund, and buy companies
including bootstrapping, leveraged buyouts, and factoring.

David Hutchinson,
Partner, Taylor, Ganson & Perrin, L.L.P.
David P. Hutchinson is a partner of the firm and concentrates in
the areas of corporate and business law, including business
planning and formation, debt and equity financings, the
acquisition and sale of businesses,
corporate governance issues, employment and executive
compensation matters and stock benefit plans. He serves in an
outside general counsel capacity for a wide range of clients,
counseling on matters such as commercial contracts and
agreements, strategic alliances and joint ventures, intellectual
property protection, transfer and licensing arrangements, and
compliance with federal and state securities law.
Prior to joining Taylor, Ganson & Perrin, Mr. Hutchinson was a
partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart in its business law department
at which he represented both privately and publicly owned
companies in a variety of industries, as well as private equity
funds and venture capital firms
regarding investments and buy-out transactions.
Mr. Hutchinson received his J.D. degree from Boston University
School of Law (magna cum laude; Writer and Articles Editor,
Boston University Law Review) and received his B.S. degree from
the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (cum
laude).
Prior to attending Boston University Law School, Mr. Hutchinson
was a financial manager at Digital Equipment Corporation (now
Hewlett-Packard).
Mr. Hutchinson is a Member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar
Associations and is actively involved with the MIT Enterprise
Forum of Cambridge, serving as a member of its MIT 10-250
Committee. The Forum provides educational opportunities to
entrepreneurs and start-up companies.

Garry Prime,
CEO Evercel, Inc.
Garry Prime has been the President and CEO of Evercel, Inc.
since he purchased it in a leveraged buyout in 2001. Evercel (Nasdaq
EVRC) is a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of nickel-zinc
batteries. Evercel was the first to produce rechargeable
batteries within this chemical format. In addition to his role
at Evercel, Garry is involved with three other companies;
(1) Prime Limited, a corporate management, private investment
banking and consulting firm that originated in 1976;
(2) Sontek, a closely held investment oriented group which has
made investments in the medical industry, microelectronics,
seafood industry, and environmentally oriented energy
conservation industry, as well as real estate and conservation
timberland; and
(3) Hall Sparr Co., Inc., a designer and manufacturer of
sailboat masts. Prior to these positions Garry held six other
director positions. Garry received his Bachelor of Science from
Saint Peter�s College in Jersey City, New Jersey.

William Sweeney,
SVP and Group Head, Comerica Bank, Technology
Practice
Mr. Sweeney is a Senior Vice President in the Technology
Practice at Comerica Bank in Boston. Mr. Sweeney�s practice area
concentrates on banking and advising early-stage venture
capital-backed technology companies in the following sectors:
semiconductors, software, network/Internet applications, and
communications. Prior to Comerica, William held senior
management positions at Deloitte & Touche and Arthur D. Little.
William is a graduate of Babson College.

John Toomey,
CEO of Visible Inventory
John Toomey is CEO of Visible Inventory (www.visibleinventory.com),
located in Salem, New Hampshire. Visible Inventory develops and
markets sensor based inventory management solutions that enhance
the performance of existing ERP, SCM and MRO systems. Inventory
activity is automatically executed upon in real time,
maintaining minimum inventory levels. Prior to John�s current
venture he was COO of White Mountain DSP in Nashua, NH and was
part of the founding management team. White Mountain DSP was
acquired by Analog Devices in 1999. John has done some angel
investing and has put together a group of private investors to
fund Visible Inventory.

Mike Chester,
Founder, International Manufacturing Consultants.
Mike Chester spent 16 years with IBM setting up global
operations, founded an IBM consulting organization for
manufacturing clients which he grew into a $20M business,
founded or co-founded several companies, and has lived in China
while working for the Machine Building Ministry. He has helped
raise almost $40M in corporate strategic investments and angel
funding. Mike founded International Manufacturing Consultants in
1994 which helps companies set up operations, form joint
ventures, develop business plans and strategies, turn around
operations, commercialize technologies, and raise funds. He also
served as VP of Business Development for Tonbu, which raised
$36M and grew to 142 employees at its peak. Mike earned his BS
in Electrical Engineering and MS in Computer Engineering from
Syracuse University and his MBA from Union College.
