Meeting Summary:

The business plan is your primary vehicle for conveying an organized thought process to investors about your business, team, and pathway to success. Successful entrepreneurs and their investors recognize that to raise capital and grow their businesses, they need well-conceived and -implemented business plans. Our panel consists of three successful investors (venture capitalists & angels) who have also been successful CEOs and CEO advisors. They will provide advice on how to put a business plan together, tell you what works and doesn't work in today's investment climate, network with you, and answer your questions.

7:00 PM Meeting Presentation - Conference Center at 1100 Winter Street, Waltham, MA in the Bay Colony Office Park.

Panel:
Hambleton (Ham) Lord is the Executive Director of LaunchPad Venture Group, an angel group that usually makes seed investments in range of $100K-$300K. He has over 20 years experience in the software industry and co-founded three software companies. Lord is also a Managing Director with Progress Partners, where he assists technology companies with product management, business development, financial planning, and market research projects. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS degree in computer science from Brown University.

Bic Stevens is a Managing Director of Zero Stage Capital, an early-stage, venture capital company. He has more than 30 years of experience as a venture capitalist, investment banker, and consultant to numerous small and medium-sized companies. He has served as a director of 27 private companies and as interim CEO. At Zero Stage Capital, Bic focuses his investment activities on IT/Communications and alternative energy. He is currently a Director for FurnitureFan.com, Konarka Technologies, OuterLink Corporation, Sonexis, Swift Rivers, Syncra Systems, and WorldWinner.com. He has an MBA from Harvard University.

Alfred (Woody) Woodworth is a Managing Director of Echelon Ventures, an early-stage venture capital company that he co-founded in 2000. He is also a founding partner of the Brook Venture Fund and was a Managing Director of Gateway Financial Group. At State Street Bank he started and managed the bank's investment banking department. More recently, Woody served as Deputy Secretary for Commerce & Development in the Weld/Cellucci Administration

Moderator:
Alan Silver has been the part-time Chief Financial Officer (PartimeCFO.com) for over 40 technology start-ups over the last 8 years. At Andover.net he was the part-time CFO from when the company had fewer than 10 employees until just 5 months before the company went public. He has an MSM degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management, is Treasurer of Boston Entrepreneurs' Network, and is an occasional panelist at MIT Enterprise Forum Start-Up Clinics.
